The EFI system partition (ESP) on GPT disk must be a FAT32 partition, so you need to create a small FAT32 partition on the USB drive. The partition layout is as follow:
Partition 1 FAT32 100M EFI System partition
Partition 2 NTFS ...G Boot partition
Partition 3 ... ...G Other partition
... Other partition
