It seems  that your motherboard don't have UEFI CSM mode, so it can't boot from MBR-based USB flash drive.
I recommend using a USB hard disk or a Windows To Go Certified Drives to create Windows To Go.

I have tried the whole process with a USB hard disk but it is the same problem, it cannot boot from this either. When I try boot override it just flashes to a black screen then back to the boot menu but refuses to boot. There is something in this device that is programmed not to boot anything at all from USB unless it is a windows recovery drive.

I guess another thing to watch out for when I replace my main computer.
